December 2
We had an impromptu party after our Tennis Club Christmas party. Here are some photos. These were scanned in so the quality is only so so.
November 2
After more than 12 years with the S-10, I finally broke down and bought a new F-150. There was nothing wrong with the S10, but Ford had some good incentives ($5,000 cash back) and that was enough to make me a buyer.
October 31
Happy Halloween. The scary voice is Bree.
I don't know if these guys did this on purpose, but they sort of have the same expressions on their faces as their pumpkins!!
September
I had a good September in tennis matches. I won the Georgetown Fall Classic and made it to the Finals in the Texas State Sectionals, which improved my USTA ranking in Men's 3.0 Singles to a #6 ranking in the state of Texas.
My sisters kids are cute.
August 18, 2006
Todd Rosson's birthday paintball: The guy in the middle, might have been shot by me. I didn't mean to hit him in the neck, but I do think he should have surrendered earlier as he was already out of the game... he was hiding behind a bunker with others, including a player who was still shooting at our team and I rushed the bunker and fired into it. Not exactly sure it was me who hit him, but there were about 5 people behind the bunker, most of them already out of the game. At the time, I didn't know they weren't all live players. After I saw them cowering, I yelled surrender, but I must have squeezed off 3 or 4 shots by then. What I learned about this game is 1) If you are out of the game, you need to get on the sidelines and specifically don't hide next to someone who is still shooting as this puts you in danger. 2) Don't shoot someone at close range 3) Be careful that you aren't letting an enemy get real close to you.
August 5, 2006
We went mountain biking in Park City, Utah, saw the Mormon temple complete with brain-washed girls, all on a Nystrom boondoggle, thanks to Bonnie's good sales last year.
This is my favorite store in the Mall, dowtown Salt Lake City. Note the crayon signs and the tape holding the signs up. It is sort of like a garage sale in the mall.
July 10, 2006
I had my 20 Year High School Reunion last weekend. I didn't take any pictures but here are a couple of pictures from the cities the night before we left, we went to Green Mill with Paul, Kathy (Bonnie's sister), and Marylou (Bonnie's mom).
I noticed that her purse matched well with my shirt so we had to get a photo of me and her accessorizing.
June 30, 2006
Kathy, Jared, Paul, and Rachel came to Austin for a visit!
June 17, 2006: Dana married Terry and we went to Oklahoma for the wedding.
May 31, 2006: The Shake That Cocktail Party was a good time. Here are a few photos.
May 17, 2006: So here's what happened the other night, middle of the night. I'm sleeping. Once I get there, good luck waking me, nothing can get me up. However, Bonnie has no problem waking in the middle of her sleep and so she is up with Chauncey at 3AM and tells me the next day that the dog went nuts and that she kept hearing a funny noise, a sucking noise like someone pulling something out of a tight wet fit, sounds bad, but true. Let's say your eating a chocolate fudge bar and someone comes along and plucks it right out of your mouth. Thuck! That's the noise she said she heard, anyway, that was my understanding of the noise that kept her awake, but allowed me to continue sleeping.
So, next morning, she leaves before 7AM, and I'm muddling around making coffee and the dog goes nuts. Nothing new, as the dog goes nuts every time someone walks buy the house. So, before the dog can tear down the door, I let the dog out into the back yard, where she continues to go nuts. I finally get interested, because it is a different bark than usual, so I go peak out over the back patio and this is what I see:
That is a coyote, eating part of a dead dear. It's the best picture I could get because it ran away after I opened the back door. Apparently the deer was jumping through the back creek area, which is normally rock hard and bone dry, but was recently soggy due to the rain... and when it landed it looked like its front legs sunk neck deep in the mud and it could get itself out in time, before the coyotes came and slit it open.
The coyote would just sulk away as soon as I went out the back door, but would then come back and resume eating as soon as went back into the house. I briefly contemplated shooting the coyote, but didn't want to deal with both a dead dear and a dead coyote, plus I figured there must be others.
I had to leave for an appointment, and I figured that when I got back, I would have to move the deer so that it didn't stink and so that the dog wouldn't bark for 5 days at the coyotes and the vultures that came in for their meal. However, when I got back, the entire dear was already gone as the coyotes had dragged it away. All that was left was a foot and a blood worn path where they had drug it away.
April 5, 2006: I am blonde. Derek is platinum. He is not albino, but how the heck do you get hair that blonde and not be an albino? It must be the American Indian...
March 25 - April 2: When the Nissens came to Texas, we saw the sites, we played some Sequence. A great time was had by all.
This is us at Barton Creek Pool.
Kickin' on the back porch:
March 21:
These 5 cows are voting for us for yard of the month.
March 13 - 20:
Hanging out with Derek and Nate. Bonnie and Nate are contemplating a tour guide position at the Texas State Capitol.
Derek is rounding up some supper for us. I think he was saying something like "Hey little girl, you want some candy?"
March 4:
I won my first ever Men's 3.0 USTA tennis match yesterday. I won 6-1, 6-0. I won again today 6-2, 6-2.
February 26:
Jeannie came for a quick visit and a taste of tequila.
February 19:
Olympic hockey is back on TV. Enjoy it while it lasts.
February 14:
Bonnie is my valentine.
I'm starting to work out again. We'll see how that goes. I don't want to lose, wait, ok, I am back, anyway I don't want to lose weight or gain, just working out.
January 25:
This was the best longhorn picture I have seen. The colors are nice and it shows that all types of longhorns here have roses...
REMOVED at photographer's request!
January 22:
This is the day that Kobe went for 81. I'll tell you what (play it), since Colorado and the Shaq thing, I haven't cared for Kobe, at all. However, 81 is so special, unheard of, that you've got to give him some credit. I actually think I might start rooting for him again.
January 15:
Now playing, Somewhere Over the Rainbow - by Iz. Want to change the music? Sign the guestbook and make a request.
These are still funny:
Play coming home from work on Friday
January 12:
This is old, but here is what Robin Williams has to say about golf:
January 6:
Bonnie, the map lady, has sold so many maps, globes, and social studies products, that she has earned a weekend reward trip to Tucson at the Westin La Paloma resort. I got to go along and tried to be a trophy husband.
November 11: I'm not sure what the song that is playing is all about (Gasolina - Daddy Yankee - no longer playing), but the beat is good and as a side benefit, ever since I put this on theamundsons.com the price of gas has started to drop ==> so maybe it's a kind of gasolina rain dance.
November 10: Xbox, sold, $196.50. Who the heck would by my Xbox and 6 games for that much? Not sure, but thank you to eBay and to a little thing called "the winners curse". Ebay got lots of folks to look at my Xbox. Fortunately for me, and to explain further it is just a numbers game: get a high number of people to look at your auction, and a small % of them will overvalue your goods and subsequently bid to their own internal incorrect value, anyway, fortunately for me, a couple folks strolled along and did value my Xbox at a high number... congrats, they won!
Wait a second. I shouldn't say they overvalued it. Since this wasn't an investment or a contract bid, they bid to their own value, not a market value, but more of a happiness & entertainment value, at which they could pay a price and still be happy. So at least they got that out of it and I got my $196.50.
November 9: OK. Did you hear about the guy who has decided to sue Home Depot because he sat in glue on the toilet seat, supposedly gluing himself to the seat?
I have some problems with this guy.
First of all, does he not look at the seat in a public rest room before he sits down? Who's fault is that if he is so retarded that he sits on a dirty seat. What a loser. People piss all over those seats, I can't stand to even use them, and this guy doesn't even look, he just plops down in a pile of glue?
Secondly, I just looked at the complaint on the smoking gun (website) and the guy claims that he looked for a sanitary napkin to sit on, but there wasn't one available. This is one of the reasons he is suing. So how can I believe that he wants a sanitary napkin, yet doesn't bother to look at the seat before he sits his ass down? He at least could have wiped the seat with a piece of toilet paper.
Third, what kind of glue could this possibly be? Not Super glue. Super glue dries very fast. It sets in seconds. So someone plants super glue, they leave, this guy strolls in, putters around looking for sanitary napkins, and finally sits down. Meanwhile, the super glue is completely dry. It would obviously be dry before he sat on it. Even if you overlook the glue drying issue, and let's say that you believe the glue sets in minutes and not seconds, then what? The guy sits in it, obviously feels it, and decides to just camp out sitting in some spuzz on the seat until it dries? Sorry, this guy has obviously glued himself to the seat.
He seeks unspecified damages for pain suffering, medical and psychiatric bills... Psych bills, come off it. Also, he says the episode has caused him to get diabetes. Oh, now that just makes the whole thing more credible doesn't it?
IMO, this guy glued himself to the seat, and it is just as bad as the Wendy's chili finger. The ought to arrest him right now because this couldn't possibly be true and I think that for punishment of his ill advised lawsuit, he ought to be required to clean public toilet seats for a month. And if I were wrong, unlikely as it is, who cares, he shouldn't have sat in glue. It's not Home Depot's fault. The only thing Home Depot did wrong was they should have just left him glued to the seat forever and completely ignored him.
October 29: Saturday night before Halloween.
October 6: Have shovel, will kill. The snake on the left is the most venomous snake in North America, the Texas coral snake. It's toxin is as deadly as the cobra's with a lethal dose for humans in the 5 to 10 milligram range. Glad to see it has left the neighborhood.
Although they look friendly, the ladies on the right are even more dangerous, not only to snakes, but also if you are an armadillo.
October 5: Happy Birthday Michele Walters!
October 4: Please sign the guestbook if you want to request new music, but I'll probably leave the Swedish Chef song playing anyway.
October 3:
Bonnie and I watched some real tennis matches at Onion Creek this past weekend during the Howdy Honda Pro Showdown. Here is a picture of me and the flying Swede and Champion, Anders Ericksson. Anders introduced me to tennis. If you could see his feet in this photo, you would agree that he is flying, as they are about 4 inches off the ground at all times.
September 22-26: Bonnie went home to Minnesota. Here are some of the photos from her trip.
September 20: Swedish Chef song has been added.
September 9:
A picture of Bonnie and I with Jenn and Dragan, some friends of ours from the Onion Creek Club. This was taken before the Davis Cup.
September 6:
This is Chauncey's first web video. Yeah, she barks for the camera. She actually likes to bark at the camera. Chauncey
August 31:
Hmmm.... what's new? Alamo Drafthouse is a good theater for a cold beer, finger snacks, and a movie on a hot day.
August 20:
My Dad is having his 60th birthday in September so my sister got us all back to MN a little early to celebrate. Here are a couple photos of the family. My brother and I are looking mildly retarded.
And here is a picture of Bonnie coming home from Chicago.... Errr, make that a picture of a ghost in a snow storm.
August 6:
Joel Skogen and Darren played 54 holes of golf on this date in 2005. The first tee time was at 7:30 AM, then we barely made the 11:24 AM tee time, and continued to play right on through until we finished all 54 holes!! Scores are listed below. We each planned to shoot less than 270 and met that goal.
Joel: 96, 82, 85 = 263
Darren: 93, 81, 84 = 258
We didn't even stop to eat. Our nourishment was provided by prime rib jerky, beer, and cigars.
When you play that long, you end up playing with a lot of different people throughout the day. We played with Ed Fick, John Doyal, Pat Patton, Stewart Ostankowski, and his friend Stuart from San Antonio.
August 3:
Bonnie, the high-powered sales executive in Colorado. The first picture is of Bonnie and her niece Amy, the second is Bonnie with some Nystromies.
July 30th:
Girls night out: Hot chicks wearing old prom dresses. Our friend Denise planned the whole thing. She's one of the cross dressers in the pictures below.
July 3:
We celebrated with Joel and Janet Skogen on the eve of the 4th as we had Steaks, Scotch, and Stogies, not to mention some brisket, pie, and a lot of other good things.
I wanted a good photo for the website too, so the process started. We took the first one, which was ok, but then I realized that my shirt was unbuttoned and the flower was in the way. I quickly try to button my shirt, but the camera is on autotimer and it takes another picture anyway. Meanwhile Bonnie and Janet Laugh on. Joel either didn't react much or he was already amused during the first picture. So finally after the third or fourth take, I got the picture I was looking for.
June 26:
Bonnie's sister Kathy had a conference in Austin and was able to come a few days early, so Kathy and her husband Paul came to visit us this past weekend.
We decided to have a nice lunch on our patio as soon as they got here. We sat down, began eating, and were chatting and listening to music when suddenly, and within minutes of their arrival, Chauncey started barking. Moments later, they got to see me load the gun and blow the head off of a big ugly snake in the back yard. Welcome to Texas ma'am.
After that we tried to show them other great things in Austin: Esther's Follies, tubing, 6th Street, BBQ, Stubbs gospel brunch, etc., although there is never enough time to get to everything and it's pretty hard to beat the shotgun & snake show.
We had a great time and we like having them visit. Here're some pictures.
May 19:
Darren went to Alaska to visit The Walters.
May:
Some photos of some good friends.
Chauncey (Not a Spurs Fan):
February 28:
Ward Churchill is the controversial Colorado Professor who claims to be 1/16 American Indian. Brilliant. 1/16th sound like a lot to you?
Well, it turns out that according to my Grandma I am about 1/32 Indian. She is not really sure how much because she didn't really like her mother-in-law and didn't care to get the details, but Sadie Napier was probably 1/4 Indian, which would make me 1/32. Anyway, I'm Canadian Indian, if there is such a thing. I guess the main difference is that "my people" are from what became Canada. While I don't know the exact kind of Indian I am, I do know that I'm the type that likes to drink whiskey... this explains a lot to me.
I've struggled with this for years, but after considering this new information, I'm finally starting to understand my pent up anger with Canadians and my love for Canadian Whiskey. Now just GIVE ME BACK MY LAND you French-Canadian thieves!!
February 10, 2005:
Not much new, except for this guy

February 4, 2005:
These are funny!
Play coming home from work on Friday
January 5, 2005: We had some friends over for New Year's Eve. I only have two photos:
December 8: Have a Groovy Christmas.
and more from the Onion Creek 30th Anniversary, a.k.a. the 70s party:
December 5: I shot a 78. Yes. I am still so bad at golf that if I shoot in the 70s, I feel the need to put it on my website.
Chauncey is getting bigger, much bigger. See Chauncey's latest pictures:
Eyeballs and Muldoon:
October 13: So many of you have written to me to ask of my political views. Yeah right and not quite, but here they are anyway:
In summary, I don't like either candidate, but I rate them as:
Bush
- OK
Kerry - BAD
October10: Bonnie started a new job a few weeks ago. She is a sales person for Nystrom and is selling social studies products, such as maps and globes, to schools and school districts.
September 30: We completed our first tennis league ever and we are staring to have a lot of fun playing tennis.
August 23: We started playing tennis a few weeks back and we just completed a set of 4 lessons.
July 31: Bonnie said it was one of her best birthdays ever.
And here is a picture of everyone at Todd and Denise's house.
July 28: Chauncey is now 42 lbs. I won't say how much Bonnie is. I would actually, but I don't know. But, look at those biceps!
July 1: The girls.
June 23: Chauncey is white with some tan on the ears and some small freckles of tan on the legs and ears.
June 22: We got a new puppy named Chauncey. Chauncey is a Great Pyrenees and we expect her to be a pretty large dog. Right now she is about 4 months old and is already pretty big. Click on the picture for a better view.
May: We are greatly saddened by the loss of our favorite dog, Muldoon. He died well before his time and we are not sure what happened to him or why. He just got sick and died all in less than 12 hours. We didn't even get a chance to bring him in to the vet. In retrospect, we suspect that it may have been a Texas Coral Snake, which is a member of the Python family, because he exhibited some of the symptoms of a coral snake bite. Bonnie also saw one and even took a photo of it the other day. Unfortunately, she did not get a chance to kill it. This snake is small, but it is said to be 4 times more venomous than a rattlesnake.
December 2003: My Dad, brother, sister and family came to our hose for Christmas. Here are some pictures of my nieces and nephews and one with my Dad.
TEST ONLY Neoscribe
December: My Dad, brother, sister and family came to our hose for Christmas. Here are some pictures of my nieces and nephews and one with my Dad.
October 6: Just a couple books I think you should read. 1. About the M.I.T. blackjack team; "Bringing Down the House" - Ben Mezrich - well written. amazing. made me feel like I was a part of it. 4 stars 2. Lasser (Jim?) - "All I Could Get" (Highly recommended) made me feel bad, like I had personally done wrong. 4.5 stars. if not for that, it would be a 5. 3. "Kane & Abel" - Jeffrey Archer - excellent and motivating too. 5 stars. 4. "The Da Vinci Code" -- Dan Brown - Interesting, popular, but... I have a couple of issues with the author. I still recommend it 4 stars.
October 5: It has been a while since we updated this webpage. All is well. We had Kevin and Christina over to our house in April. We had a short golf vacation and it was a blast. Then we had Jeannie Oelfke (Bonnie's sister) and her son Tim for a few days. After that we had Bonnie's sister Peg and her three kids. It was real good to have some family stay at our house for a while. I really like seeing their kids and playing games.
Then in August we went to MN and spent a weekend in Jake's camper. I played a few holes of golf at Wolf Ridge and stayed with my Dad a few days. Bonnie went down to the cities and helped her sister get ready for her wedding. Kathy is the last Karp girl to get married.
I have been playing a lot of golf, but can't seem to get my handicap below 16. I went through a stretch where it was going up, but now it is trending down again. I shot an 84 from the back tees yesterday so that is decent score.
Neoscribe is going well. We are working with some new sales reps now and I am excited about this.
March 19:
We have visitors coming soon!! Two visits from family and another from friends, coming in the month of April.
March 15:
I did well in a couple of golf tournaments at Onion Creek. See the redneckgolfer pointing to the low score of "59", which was good for the #1 seed in the Match Play tournament.
March 7: Muldoon the dog wonder is still on top of the security job at the Amundson household.
December 24: Here are a couple of shots, the first is Toivo doing some cooking and the 2nd is the final product.
December 15: Darren, Bonnie, Erin, Bret, and Molly.
November 24: All is well. My sister Michele is coming to visit us this next weekend. She comes all the way form Big Lake, Alaska!!
October 27: We had a great weekend. We finally bought some new furniture (we were overdue). We also had a lot of fun playing Taboo on Saturday night with our good friends Todd and Denise.
September 30: We are doing well. Golf is good. And now that fall is here, the weather is perfect. Muldoon is in training for for the worlds longest Frisbee run and catch. We have a new Frisbee and I can throw it about 200 yards. I'm not that good, it just goes far and fast. Currently Muldoon is working out at about 100 to 150 yards. The reason I know the yardage is because we play on the golf course and I throw it towards the green. I don't think 200 will be a problem, since Muldoon can really fly.
My sister Michele is coming for a visit in November. My sister-in-law, Kathy, is coming in October.
If you know of other places where you can get a beer "to go" (legally) please mention it in the guest book.
August 28: Here is the new news, although some of it is old news, and you could argue that some of it is not news at all.
I don't give stock tips. Do the opposite of what I do and you will do fine.
The Comal is the place to tube. The Grist Mill is a place to eat afterwards. Sonic is the place to eat always.
Bonnie is playing golf more often. We have been playing on either Saturday or Sunday mornings -- sometimes both.
School is back in session and so Toivo-Maki (Bonnie) is finally out of my hair.
If you don't swear and cuss, then what the hell are we going to talk about?
Armadillos are not wanted in our yard. How can we get rid of them? Post the answer in our guest book.
Here is a little poem about Toiv.
July 10: I know why you're here. It is to see the pictures of the Texas floods. Here is what happened at the Onion Creek Golf Club. No homes were damaged and our house was high and dry again.
July 7: Bonnie is getting bored because she has the summer off. My golf game has been progressing and I shot an 89 the other day. First time I have done that without a mulligan.
July 1: Our company added 6 new clients last month. We need to keep that going and all will be well.
May 22: See the girl with the crooked face. Boy am I glad that Novocain wears off.
May 10: Muldoon found an unidentified snake in the yard. It was over 5 feet long and it coiled up and struck at Muldoon. I had to use the old pistola.
May 5: Ma Karp came for a visit last week. We like when she visits.
April 30: Yep. It has been a while since we updated this page. I have started a new company www.neoscribe.com with a partner in Boston. Also, my golf game has progressed and I broke 90 for the first time this April. I shot an 86!
Bonnie has planted many, many flowers in our yard. Things are growing quickly and I have already had to mow the lawn 5 times. It looks like I will have to mow it every 4 to 5 days from here on out. Bonnie only has four weeks of school left and she will have completed here first year as a 1st grade teacher.
Bonnie's mom, Mary Karp, came to visit us this week. She is a riot.
In our yard now we have a Mexican oak, two pecan trees, two crepe myrtles, two mesquite, one magnolia, one live oak, one toothache tree, one cedar (actually of the juniper family), one bald cypress in the back and near the creek and at least a half-dozen hackberry trees.
Muldoon has had his best friend, Dutch, over twice since January. They love to play together. Although Muldoon is going to be eight and Dutch is only two, Muldoon still acts more like a puppy. I think the last time Dutch came over he got sick of Muldoon because Muldoon never wants to quit playing.
January 22: Just transferred TheAmundsons.com from AITCOM.net to iPowerWeb.com. The difference? Now we pay $7.95 per month. I like the web interface better too. If you decide to use iPowerWeb.com, please mention my name so that I can get a referral fee.
January 2-5: We went to New Orleans. If you have never been there, then you should ask yourself why you are so pitiful. I bet you have been to Europe? Well, I guess it took me 34 years, so I am not much better. Any way. Go there. Bring beads. Take note, it is the only place I have been, where you can get a beer "to go". (other than Bear River, MN)
December 31: Happy New Year
December 9: Derek, a.k.a. bunker boy, had a birthday -- 20, but he would be 21 in China. We played frisbee golf, then went out to Hut's Hamburgers for a bite. Shown is Derek, Joey, JR, Darren, Bonnie.
November 30: My little sister Michele came for a visit and got a break from the kids in Alaska.
November 23: Amundson addresses the nation.
November 22: We had Norma Castro and Derrick and Joanna Hatami as Thanksgiving dinner guests. Bonnie and Joanna in the capital.
November 10: Kevin Kellar and I watched the horns whip Kansas 59 to 0. He works at M3 Design.
November 9: Things are getting kind of slow. Meet Lucy, she is a retired surfer, hanging outside a bar.
November 1: Great day today. Worked out, played golf, still looking for a job.
September Visitors: Mike and Marcia
Also Derek made it to Texas now.
October 19: See the Frisbee catching dog (and it isn't even Muldoon)
October 26: Looking for a new job.
October 24: I broke 100 a while ago when I shot a 96. Today I played 9 and shot a 43, my best ever.
August 25: Golf today. Still trying to break 100.
August 24: Now this is just too much. Now he smells golf balls even when they are underground!! He scratches around and digs them up!! Amazing.
August 18: Muldoon is the greatest dog in the world. Now he has learned to fetch golf balls. Actually, he doesn't fetch them... he goes out in the woods and finds them and brings them to us. He can actually smell them and when we take him for walks on the golf course (at night and in the dark) he runs into the bushes once in a while and brings back a golf ball!
August 11:
Bonnie's friend April is a starfish.
August 4: Last weekend we went to New Mexico for a weekend get-away. This will probably be our vacation for the year.
July 28: Make it 3 weekends out of 4 that we have had people over to the new house for drinks and food. Check out the new photos of the inside.
July 15: We are all moved in. Our house is kind of empty because the rooms are too big for the amount of furniture we have. We had friends over for the last two weekends though. Click here to see our final house pictures.
June 29: We close on the house today. Tonight my internet connection gets pulled. As soon as we are connected in the new house we will put up some photos. See y'all later.
June 28: Usually... no matter how busy we are, we still update this web page. That is still the case.
June 17: We saw Tomb Raider: 3 stars out of 4. The story is only 2 out of 4, but Angelina Jolie elevates the movie to a 3.
May 26: Not much new lately, we mostly work on getting ready for our new house: Click for the latest photo on the house.
May 20: I have been quite busy lately because I have been working on a new project in Chicago. Our house is coming along albeit slowly... the contractors keep messing things up and doing them over again!!! We can't wait until we are done building and so that we can move in.
May 13: My brother Derek came for a visit for 10 days!!
April 29: Another nice weekend in Texas. Seems like we are on vacation every weekend here. Our house is coming along nicely. See the Kitchen.
Also, we went down to the swimming hole on Barton Creek again. Muldoon loves the water now and is fetching sticks. We even watched a little bit of LPGA action in our new neighborhood this weekend.
April 22: We drove out to Llano yesterday in the convertible. Cool trip. Check out the blue bonnets and other Texas wild flowers.
April 13: We have another visitor! Kathy Karp from Minnesota.
April 12: It has been warming up nicely down here the last few weeks, but I haven't played much golf -- looking forward to the LPGA tournament at Onion Creek on the 26th - 29th.
Bonnie and I are disappointed with the cabinets in our house. We ordered ash cabinets with cherry stain. The got the color wrong (much to light) and some of the wood looks like oak veneer instead of ash. We are going to make them do it over. I can't see how we could possibly pay for it like that -- sort of like ordering a navy blue car and getting a baby blue car. We made a special trip out to Llano Texas to pick the stain and the wood too, but it looks like they didn't come through for us.
March 31: Visit Bonnie's portfolio website. Bonnie has been taking eTeach courses and also website building courses. Check out some of her good work!
We saw Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, which is 3.5 stars out of 4.
March 25: Click for the latest photo on the house.
We saw the movie called Say it isn't So. I would say it is a 2.5 stars out of 4. Artsy fartsies would say "Oh, god... don't tell me you saw that." If you just thought that, then in your case I would give it 3.0 stars out of 4. Because I think the movie accomplishes what it set out to accomplish - that is, to make you laugh. Only real, boring, geeks would avoid a movie like this. If you saw Dude, Where's My Car you will love this movie.
March 24: Hello to Mrs. Jones!
Also, I started looking at the labels on juice containers and realized that the number 1 ingredient in most juices is not juice. Usually it is water, and the number 2 ingredient is usually high fructose corn syrup! How is this different from Coke or Pepsi? Sometimes these juices might even have juice as the 4th ingredient. Well, I really think one should eat anything that one wants and not worry about fat, oils, all the good stuff, but .... I am sick of eating high fructose corn syrup! So now I am boycotting all high fructose corn syrup. No more juice or pop. Just the good stuff: milk, water, beer, or genuine juice.
March 18: On the outside, limestone started going up this week and on the inside, the sheetrock is almost complete. Click for the latest photo on the house. Also, we saw the movie Enemy at the Gates, which earns 3 stars out of 4.
March 17: Jim Jacobson and Kristen Zupetz came down to Austin last week.
March 12: Saw the movie Traffic. I give it a 2.5 stars out of 4. It is too much of a drug-life movie for me to score it any higher. Oh yeah... you might notice that I gave Oh Brother Where Art Thou a higher rating.
February 25: Bret Walters came for a visit (training) to Austin last week. I was out of town part of the time, but we got to go to County Line, Rudy's, and even had a few beers during martigras!
I am working on a project in Houston, Bonnie is busy taking computer classes, and we are both getting ready to move into the new house. If only they would finish it soon.
February 11: We had a fun weekend. Cameron came for a visit from Australia as he had training in San Antonio last week.
Bonnie has been meeting a lot of fun new friends and she disagrees with the statement nonPC statement below.
I got my first birdie playing golf. However, I didn't count the first shot that went in the water... and I'm not going to either.
here is the latest on the house.
February 3: Yes it is true. Women teachers, and I'm talkin' elementary, swear more than any group I have ever met. This has been true in 4 states. Also, I think they secretly hate kids, which is the real reason they cuss so much. But, don't pull your kids from that public school yet because teachers do have some good qualities.... for one, they can really put away the beers. (I have a feeling that this entry won't be up here very long. Bonnie will get all politically correct and stuff and want it take down, so shhhhh! don't tell here it's here....)
January 28: Best of web has been updated.
Don't ever rent the movie Woman Chaser. Very stupid movie. 0 stars out of 4.
Do see the movie Brother Where Art Thou... 3.5 stars out of 4. OK, by now you probably have lost all faith in me, but, I stick with my favorite quote... "Every truly great story has to have a touch of the supernatural." and you will laugh if you see this movie.
January 27: Not much new on our house. so no new pictures, but still... here is the latest on the house. January 21: We went to dinner at a cool Chinese restaurant with friends last night. I worked on Saturday and Sunday on an assignment that needed to get down by Sunday night.
January 18: Not much to report. Kitchen cabinet drawings are complete and Bonnie is correcting mistakes and approving. I won't be going to DC. Still hoping for White Plains, NY.
January 13: Here is the latest on the house. My project in DC is not for certain yet. Also holding out for a project in White Plains, NY.
January 13: Played a round of par 3 golf. Shot a 35, which is not too bad for me. If you ever saw me play golf you would understand.
January10: See the mean, nasty looking Texas bug. No one can tell us what it is, but the photo is just about actual size. The thing looked like it was made of steel.
January 03: Also, I got assigned to a new project for Diamond and will begin traveling to Washington DC soon!
January 01:
Here
are the twins!! Congratulations
to Michele and Bret.
We celebrated in an Irish pub with good friends - Michael
and Jeannie.
December 31: Went to Butler Park Pitch and Putt today. You only need a pitching wedge and a putter because the longest hole is 118 yards, shortest is about 60 yards.
December 30: We meant to hike to Austin from our apartment today alongside Barton Creek, but failed. There is one place where you need to cross the creek (to remain on the trail) and the water was too high and too cold for Bonnie's little feet. So we turned around and headed back home. All together it took 4 hours and Muldoon had a great time.
December 27 - 28: Went to San Antonio and saw the Alamo and the River Walk. Cool place.
December 25: Christmas in Texas. It rained and rained today. We saw the movie All the Pretty Horses, which has Matt Damon as a lead and Billy Bob Thorton as the director. 3 stars. Just as good as "Cast Away".
December 24: Bonnie and I went to Cast Away with Tom Hanks and Helen Hunt. I give it a 3 star rating (out of 4). Pretty good movie, I'd recommend it. The only reason I don't give it a higher rating is because there is not much more you can do with the story. I mean a guy gets stranded on a deserted island and of course, he is going to somehow get off the island or it wouldn't be movie. Hanks was superb, it would be hard for anyone else to play this role as well as he did. Helen Hunt seemed a little off and just about anyone could play her role as good as she could.
December 23: The latest pictures of the house.
December 9: Our apartment complex had a Christmas party last night and it was pretty fun. Afterwards we went out for a drink with some friends.
December 5: Things are going well
and I am still working from home. I am on a small team that is
working on a proposal for some new business with a fiber optics company
and it has been a lot of fun. I like it because it is a cool
company and the work we are proposing is part of a marketing strategy.
I would add some new pictures of the house, but it
still looks the same as it did 2 weeks ago. We will have to wait a
few more weeks to give an update.
Things have been up and down with the house
lately. There is a possibility that we might even back out of the
deal. We really don't want to give it up, but this is the third
time that we thought we should. The company has a great salesman
who always comes back and fixes the problems for us. If it wasn't
for him, we wouldn't be buying this house -- let's hope he comes through
again.
Bonnie has been busy planning things for the house
and choosing colors, tiles, etc. when she is not at school.
November 23: Here is the latest on our house. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.
November 16: "I just hope they do a
revote in my district.
I'm pretty sure I accidentally voted for
Leo Koepke for
county clerk instead of Barb Shultz."
November 10: Time flies when you are having fun. Now it's Gore vs. Bush or Bush vs. Gore. I don't care to watch it any more. But... as I've said before, I would like to see either one of them vs. the Vikings -- and not the ones who showed up to play Tampa a few weeks ago. Also, one more quick rip, if you can't read and mark your ballot in the right place, then maybe you shouldn't even vote.
November 2: Take a
look at the pumpkins
that we carved. We used a little tiny jigsaw to make the nice
cuts. Once again, not a single trick-or-treater. I have a
whole bowl of candy to eat.
Kathy came down for a visit (our first visitor in
Austin!) We took some pictures in front of a longhorn.
We made a trip to Fredricksburg and stopped at the LBJ Ranch on the way,
or at least we tried to. That is where the girls met this fine
fellow.
Yesterday we saw this
(it was sort of eerie) along
side the highway on the way back from Onion Creek.
October 29: We had
an interesting week. I have been working on a project from home
for Diamond and have been enjoying this. Last week I also helped
out by recruiting for EE and CompE undergrads at UT in
Austin.
Bonnie and I saw the movie "Remember the
Titans" -- although the movie had inspirational performances from
the actors/actresses, I can only give it 2.5 out of 5 stars. There
is only so much that you can do when the movie is about football.
Of course the team struggles against insurmountable odds, they lose the
star player, then they even get behind, yet surprisingly they pull out a
win. Gee I didn't see that coming...
We also bought an antique mirror for $40 that Bonnie
is going to put in the new house.
It was a NY vs. NY series, and unless you are from
NY, nobody cared who won. Some people may have even preferred to
see both teams lose. I would have liked to see either team play
the Vikings.
October 21: OK. I
realize that it has been a while since we updated this web page. I
will keep it up to date from now on.
I have started working at Diamond
Technology Partners (DTPI).
So far I haven't been traveling, just working from home.
Bonnie has been working for Cedar Creek Elementary and she loves it.
We have our first visitor this week, Bonnie's sister Kathy
is spending the weekend in Austin. You should visit too and we
will show you the sites. We can eat BBQ, listen to live music,
watch the bats come out, and see why bigger is better in Texas!
We are building a new house
and they just broke ground this week. It should be completed in
March.
August 17: We are back! We bought a new Mustang and drove to MN, then vacationed in MN, Mexico, and Iceland. I start work on Monday and Bonnie has an interview tomorrow.
June 17:
Our new address.
3267 Bee Cave Road
Suite 107, Pmb 212
Austin, TX 78746
cell phone: (512) 296 6686
June 17: This is the last entry until mid-August. Bonnie and
I are going to Austin on Monday and will be there until about July
1st. Then its off to Minnesota, Chicago, and then who knows
where. Maybe we will go to Hawaii for a friend's wedding
celebration. Maybe we will go to Europe. Maybe Southeast
Asia?? Please come back in August and check. Our email will
still be working and it's probably the easiest way to reach us!! You can
also try the cell phone. We hope to see you this summer!

July 24: I added a link to Michaels (Michael's) web page on my
"Family and Friends" page. Send me your URL and I will post it.
